Today, we are celebrating the release of Issue Eleven with my favorite interview of all time! And why can I say it’s my favorite? Because I got to talk to an entire family – the adorable family that you see on the cover of Issue 11.
Jason and Danica Russell are the couple behind the organization Invisible Children. You’ve probably seen the famous documentary Invisible Children or the Koney2012 campaign, and that is their impactful work.
Jason and Danica are passionate activists and business owners, having done intensive work to help end to Africa’s longest-running conflict led by Joseph Kony and his Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA).
But a major part of their life journey over the last decade has been raising their own kids – Gavin Danger and Everly Darling.
Jason and Danica wanted to use their life experience as changemakers to help spread more impact not only in their own kids lives, but in the lives of other kids around the world. So, they wrote a children’s book, called “A Little Radical: The ABC’s of Activism”, which is a really cool artbook that has a meaning related to being a changemaker for each letter of the alphabet.
To really hit the message home for their kids, the Russell’s also took Gavin and Everly out of school this past year to get out of their bubble and travel the world to see social impact projects happening around the globe.
They are such an amazing family. I can’t wait for you to hear all of the fun stories, and inspirational insights they have for you today, including Gavin, who pops into the conversation.
So let’s kick off our ‘Journey’ series. Here is my conversation with the Russell family tuning in from Rwanda.
